BRILL, JONAS STEPHEN (JIM, JAKE),

of Miami passed away peacefully at home on Monday morning, June 1, 2009 at the
age of 70. He was born on January 7, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA to deceased parents
Stephen and Hazel and raised with sisters Doris, Christine, and Shirley. While in the Air
Force and based in Miami, he met and married Lorraine Lyons on November 19, 1960.
He spent over thirty years working in the technology division of Miami-Dade College.
He was a devoted husband of more than 48 years, beloved father and grandfather
"Poppie", loving uncle, brother, generous friend and coach. Jim was passionate about
watching his kids and grandkids play ball and alongside his wife, rarely missed a game
or even a practice! He was also inventive and skillful as a handyman and carpenter.
Whenever in a bind, they'd all say, "Call Poppie, he'll figure things out! As a man of few
words and desires, he had a heart of gold for anyone who needed anything. Jim joins
his parents, in-laws Edward and Eunice Lyons, sisters Doris and Christine,
brothers-in-law Bernie and Edward Lyons, and sister-in-law Frannie Lyons in eternal
rest. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, children Ed and daughter-in-law Kelly, Lory, KK
and son-in-law Ron, Mike and Jen, grandchildren Jake, Wesley, Denver, Eddie Jr,
Taylor, Stephanie, Carter, James, Peyton and many more family members. Donations

Catholic Hospice. Wake will be held on Saturday, June 6, from 5-7pm at Stanfill Funeral
