| Francine HAGENS Francine Hagens, age 66, a much beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died May 19th at the age of 66. In her professional life, Francine worked at Seafirst Bank / Bank of America as the Assistant Vice President of the Main Office Branch, prior to retiring. Francine previously worked as an elementary school teacher in Marin County, California and in Bellevue, Washington as well as a substitute teacher for Epiphany School in Seattle. Francine was born in Ross, California to Helen McGeorge Castro and Walter Rafael Castro, Jr. Her grandfather, Walter Rafael, Sr. was a member of the Board of Supervisors for Marin County, California and commissioned the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Marin Civic Center. Francine graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS in Education in 1964 where she was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. She met her husband, Carl Hagens, in Ross, California and both ventured north to start their lives in Seattle, Washington after Mr. Hagens graduated from law school in 1967. Francine had many close friends and enjoyed life. She loved parties, and embarked on a great many sailing and traveling adventures with her friends and family. Her infectious laugh and constant smile - along with her trademark red hair - were unmistakable and hard to forget. "Mimi," as she was known by her four grandchildren, treasured all of her experiences with her grandchildren. She entertained them with such simple toys as pots filled with water, which she somehow transformed into hours of fun and excitement. She was an avid golfer, and for the past three years spent the winter months with her husband at their second home in Superstition Mountain, Arizona. Francine also dedicated over 25 years of service to Childhaven, a non-profit organization which supports young families in need; where she once served as co-President. Francine approached everything in life with a tremendous level of energy, joy and enthusiasm. She will be much missed. Francine is survived by her husband, Carl Hagens; son Jason Hagens and daughter-in-law Erin Hagens; daughter Holly Hagens and son-in-law Todd Sisitsky; and four grandchildren, Grace and Caroline Hagens and Tyler and Mia Sisitsky. She is also survived by her mother, Helen Castro, and her two sisters Barbara McGrew and Diane Nolen. A celebration of her life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6th at the Seattle Yacht Club, 1807 East Hamlin Street, Seattle, WA 98112.
