Lois A. Faupell,
100, longtime Alamogordo resident, passed away Friday, May 15, 2009, in Alamogordo.
She was born Aug. 24, 1908, in Philadelphia to Robert and Anna S. (Barsautie) Inskip. She married Dwight L. Faupell on June 26, 1946, in Ann Arbor, Mich. They moved to New Mexico in the 1950s. They taught at the New Mexico Boys Ranch before moving to Alamogordo, where they were both teachers for many years. She taught at Buena Vista Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dwight Faupel, in 1992; and her sister, Wilma Marie Inskip, in 2006.
She is survived by Pat Berry and family, of La Luz, and her friends with whom she taught school.
Cremation has taken place and private memorial services will be conducted, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Dwight.
The Faupell family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Otero County Boys & Girls Club.
