James R. Dewar (The General)
70, passed away May 18, 2009. He was born and raised in Allentown, PA. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Alida Dewar. He is survived by his wife,
Evelyn; son, Scott (Penney) Dewar; daughter, Cindy Matthews; three grandchildren,
Broc Matthews, Brittney and Ciera Dewar. He was a loving husband, father,
grandfather. Jim was a graduate of the U of A. He taught and coached basketball at
Salpointe and Rincon High Schools. After his career in teaching and coaching he
joined the Air National Guard where he retired as a Senior MSgt. His hobby was
coaching and teaching basketball at Central AZ College with one of his best friends,
Gary Heintz. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Peppi's House, 5301 E Grant
Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712. A final thank you to our family, friends and the wonderful
people at Hospice who made Jim so comfortable in his last days and helped the family
to prepare for what lay ahead of us. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday,
May 23, 2009 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd.
