Dorothy C. Marten Dorothy Marten died in Seattle on March 18, 2009. She was born in Seattle February 12, 1928, the daughter of Sam and Mary Pocina. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, L. Paul Marten in 2001. Dorothy was a graduate of Holy Angels Academy in Seattle. She and Paul moved to Tacoma in 1952. After raising her six children, she studied accounting and worked at Nalley's Fine Foods for many years. She loved to read and do needlework. She is survived by her sister Diane Merlino; her children Debbie Winskill (Ed) and Paula Jurich (Mike) of Tacoma, Karen Scott (Pat) of Whidbey Island, Kirk Marten of Bremerton, Becky Brown of Lake Bluff, IL, and Margaret Mary "Mugsy" Amrine (Bob) of Chehalis; her grandchildren Christine, Ted and Hugh Winskill; Sarah McInnis; Jennifer Maher; Lynn and Tracy Jurich; Mark Scott; Callie, Sam and Hillary Brown; and Brad and Kristi Amrine. In addition, she is survived by 10 great-grandchildren. A reception honoring her life will be held at 11:30, May 23 at The Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club, 502 North Borough Road, Tacoma.
