SMSgt. Thomas McCarroll
U.S. Air Force, Retired Senior Master Sergeant Thomas W. McCarroll, 78, of Las
Vegas, passed away May 15, 2009. He was born March 14, 1931, in Plains, Pa., and
was a 35-year resident of Nevada. Tom retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the
U.S. Air Force and proudly served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a
member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge. Tom is survived by his wife,
Mildred "Millie" McCarroll; daughter, Deborah McCarroll of San Jose, Calif.; son, Tom
McCarroll II of Folsom, Calif.; stepson, Daniel S. Varvar of Henderson; stepdaughter,
Susan L. Martin of Harrisburg, Pa.; granddaughter, Jessica Sellers; and great-grandson,
Jackson Sellers, both of McDonough, Ga. Visitation will be from noon-7 p.m. Thursday,
May 21, with a prayer service starting at 5:30 p.m., both at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W.
Cheyenne Ave. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 22, at St.
Joseph, Husband of Mary, Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Interment will follow
at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Donations can be made to
the Salvation Army.
