Frank O. Romero

August 31, 1941 - May 15, 2009 Frank was born at St Mary's hospital to Frank and
Mary Romero. He was proud to be a sixth generation Tucsonan and worked hard to
make his community a better place for all people. He graduated from Tucson High
School and the University of Arizona. Frank started working at the age of 14 at
Consumers Markets. He later became produce manager and relief manager in the
supermarkets. Frank worked for the Arizona State Department of Public Safety as a
Liquor Control agent and a Narcotics agent. He was director of CETA Programs for the
City of Tucson. For the past 21 years he has been CEO of NOSOTROS INC. where he
started an alternative high school program and NOSOTROS ACADEMY, a college
bound charter high school. He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe; his children, Frank
(Beatriz), Mía Romero Washington (Marc), Raúl (Nicole) and Judi; his grandchildren,
Francisco Romero, Noah Romero, Max and Gabriela Washington, Isabella, A.J.,
Bianca and Samantha Romero; his sister, Rita Irene Martinez (Angel) and numerous
nieces and nephews. Frank will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Special
thanks to all the angels who cared for Frank at Da Vita Dialysis Center on Anklam and
to Carondolet Hospice. Pall bearers: Francisco Romero, Noah Romero, Max
Washington, A.J. Romero, Frank Romero, Raúl Romero, Rudy Cruz, Richard
Kornmuller, Henry Lopez, Rudy Molina, Andres Renteria, Jerry Romero. Honorary Pall
bearers: Adalberto Guerrero, Roberto Guerrero, Javier Guerrero, Angel Martinez. In lieu
of flowers, donations may be made to the Frank O. Romero College Bound Scholarship
for graduates of NOSOTROS ACADEMY to attend Pima Community College. Visitation
will be held Monday, May 18, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00
p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church 338 West University Blvd. Funeral Mass, Tuesday,
May 19, 2009, 9:00 a.m. at St Augustine Cathedral, 192 South Stone Avenue.
