Merial ATKINSON
Our beloved Grand Aunt Merial, born March 6, 1907 in Springfield, Missouri passed away March 18 at the age of 102. She was a longtime resident of Magnolia and spent over 25 years as an enthusiastic member of the Crista Community. She graduated from Queen Anne High School and finished her bachelors degree at WSU. She was an early member of the mountaineers, lifelong member of DAR, avid genealogist and was stellar at handicrafts. Merial worked for the Corp of Engineers most of her life and after retirement she traveled the world. She visited all seven continents! She had a quick wit and a story for all occasions. Her favorite phrase was "be positive." She is survived by her sister Cora, Grand Nephew Chris and the apple of her eye, her Great Grand Nephew Bennett. A memorial service will be held at Crista Nursing Center Sat. March 21st at 2p.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Magnolia Presbyterian Church.
