| Went on with a spirit of adventure to a new place on March 10, 2009. She is survived by her son , LeRoy Allen, of Spokane, WA; her grandchildren: Michelle Allen of Seattle, WA; Shawn Allen of Steamboat Springs, CO; Andy (Tabitha) Allen of Yuba City, CA; and Betsey (Jeremy) Lemes of Spokane, WA; her great-grandchildren, Nikki Allen and Cosette Lemes; her sister, Marie Pyle of San Diego, CA; and her daughter-in-law, Mo |
| Allen of Seattle. She is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, LeRoy Allen, Sr., in 1978 and by her son, Joseph Robert Allen in 2003. Betty was born to Joseph and Mildred (Datola) Secchetti in Philadelphia, PA, graduating from West Philadelphia Catholic Girls School. Following high school, Betty attended college and became a licensed practical nurse. She met LeRoy Allen in Philadelphia after WWII and they married shortly thereafter. They moved to Spokane within a couple of years. She began working at Eastern State Hospital from where she retired after 20 years of service. A longtime, dedicated member of St. Ann's Church, she loved to play Bridge, travel, and enjoy life. However, her greatest joy was caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spoiling them with the beloved "goody bags". She loved her family very much and she delighted in doing things for others. Her generosity and loving spirit will be missed. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at |
