ANDERSON, Erik W. (Age 38)

Passed away February 19, 2009. He was born February 15, 1971 in El Cajon, CA and
graduated Mtn View High School in Vancouver, WA in 1989. Veteran of the Persian
Gulf war and honorably discharged from the US Army in 1991. Graduated with a
bachelor's degree from Linfield College in 1996 where he met his wife Mariza, they
married in 1999. He completed his Master's from Eastern WA in Exercise Science and
Pedagogy in 2003. Throughout his 13-year teaching and coaching career, between
Clark College in Vancouver, WA and Spokane Community College, Erik achieved
numerous awards and championship titles. Erik was passionately dedicated to his
family, friends, the students and athletes he coached, taught, and mentored. Survived
by his wife four year old daughter, one year old daughter; parents; brother; sister;
grandmother and grandfather; and his friends whom he also regarded as family. A
public Memorial Service will be held at 4:00PM Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the
Walter S. Johnson Sports Center gymnasium, Bldg. 5, 1810 N. Greene St. (doors will
open at 3:00PM) on the Spokane Community College campus. In lieu of flowers
memorial contributions should be made to any Spokane Teachers Credit Union location
or mailed to Erik Anderson Memorial Fund, 106 W. Nora Ave. Spokane 99205.
