| Age 75, La Conner, WA, died in his sleep at home after battling several illnesses. Walt was born in Carthage, MO to W. Dale Carol and Margaret Gillum Carol. He graduated from the University of Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Navy during Korea and was later employed by Diebold Inc. He retired in 1985 as Regional Man ager of the N.W. Walt then owned Boat Street Moorage in Seattle for ten years, retiring to La Conner in 2000. He served on the Planning Commission of La Conner. He was an avid power and sail boater - enjoying 11 boats in the San Juans and Cana da. As AARP volunteer he was a tax aide and lobbyist for long-term health care. His wife of 49 years B.J. Carol will miss him greatly - there was never a dull moment with Walt Carol around. Memorials may be made to The Friends of La Conner Library P.O. Box 1285, La Conner WA 98257.
