Stephen Francis MADDEN

March 28, 1927 ~ December 8, 2008 Died peacefully after a short illness and a loving,
generous life. He grew up in Pennsylvania, graduating from Crafton High School and
Carnegie Tech. He served in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1946. When
he retired, he was Vice President of Operations for Standard Steel in Burnham,
Pennsylva nia. His volunteer work included each Catholic parish he belonged to,
United Way, Lewistown Hospital, and St. Vincent de Paul Society. An avid golfer, he
shot a hole-in-one at Midland Country Club in Pinehurst, NC. He was preceded in death
by his wife, Lois, whom he married in 1951, and is survived by his brother, Jeremiah J.
Madden; his children: Catherine, Sue, and Phil Madden, Trisha Neky, daughter-in-law
Debra; his grandchildren: Paul, Alyssa, Edan, Stephen and Sophia. A Funeral Mass will
be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church 18033 15th Pl. NE, Shoreline, WA 98155 at
11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12 followed immediately by a reception in the church's
Sullivan Hall. Burial Services will take place in Pennsylvania at a later date.
Remembrances may be given to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Mark's.
