Betty L. Nelson
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, in St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Beaverton for Betty L. Nelson, who died Dec. 25, 2008, at age 88.
Betty Lowe was born Sept. 6, 1920, in Monett, Mo. She lived for 86 years in Los Angeles before moving to Lake Oswego last February. She was a homemaker and a Bloodmobile volunteer for the American Red Cross for 35 years. In 1940, she married John W. Nelson; he died in 1991.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy N. Flora; son, James W.; sisters, Mildred Connor and Linda J. Mullins; brother, John M. Lowe; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
