Charles Oliver CAUSEY
With his devoted, beloved wife of 30 years, Chela, at his side, Charles Oliver (CO)
Causey, 91, passed away peacefully on November 14th in Shoreline after a heroic
battle with cancer. CO, the oldest of 3 children, was born in Sewickley, PA to Paul and
Emma Causey. He graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester NY in
1938, after which he moved to Seattle to attend Seattle Pacific University. He
graduated in 1940. With the advent of WW II, CO served in the Army as a second
lieutenant. Following that, he became an insurance agent and later a mortgage broker
in Shoreline. He had 4 children, 4 stepchildren, 10 granddaughters, and 1 grandson, all
of whom survive him. CO was a long time member of the Lakeview Free Methodist
Church in Seattle, and his church work and religion were of great importance to him
and an inspiration to his congregation. He was an ardent Seahawk and Husky fan,
loved to work with cement, and was a loving husband and father. He had a ready smile
and a pleasant word for everyone he encountered, and will be sorely missed. A
memorial service was held November 22 at his church. Donations in his name may be
made to Lakeview Free Methodist Church or to Seattle Pacific University.
