| Richard Walter HEATON Richard passed away quietly on November 25, 2008 at the age of 87. He was born in Green City, Missouri on September 6, 1921. He joined the Army Air Corp in 1939 and served in WWII in the North African and Italian campaigns. He retired from the Air Force in 1961 and went on to a distinguished career in the aviation industry. Among his many achievements, he served as an FAA Inspector, as Director of Maintenance for several private airlines and culminating his career in being one of the founding fathers of Horizon Airlines where he served asVice-President of Technical Services until he retired in 1984. Dick Heaton was an avid fisherman and hunter, pilot of his beloved Bonanza aircraft, acti in the Avion Trailer Association, and true friend to many. Always ready to use his many and varied mechanical skills, he could fix a car or build a home which he did twice in his life. Our beloved father is survived by his children, Richard Heaton, II (Diana) of Lakewood, Leslie McCracken (Tim) of San Diego, and Kathy Schill of Puyallup and his stepchildren Craig Jones (Jill) of Renton, and Beverly Skelly of Issaquah, his six grandchildren and a sister Margaret Williams of Green City, MO.
