Frezados, Penny Born September 15, 1917. On March 26, 2010, our beloved Aunt, Penny Frezados, was gathered by the Angels and delivered to God, after which she was surely welcomed at the doors of Heaven by her sister, Judy Kiriazes, who was no doubt holding a bouquet created from Aunt Penny's garden, complete with Aunt Penny's magnificent red roses, sweet oranges and divine lemons, as she was led to her parents, Helen and Peter Kiriazes, her brother and his wife, James and Magdalene Kiriazes, her infant sister, her husband George Frezados, Uncle Nick Terzakis, Uncle George Terzakis, Uncle Tom and his wife Aunt Tacia Terzakis, as well as by her sweet Shih Tzu, Panda. Aunt Penny is survived by her niece, Marlene, her nephew, Peter and great-nieces, Christine, Alyssa and Katie and her Aunt Helen Terzakis Louiza. As a small child, she was offered a coveted role as one of the original Our Gang Little Rascals but her parents turned down the offer. As a young girl, Aunt Penny was active in her Greek Orthodox Church, performing in many of the church pageants held in the 1920s. After graduating from high school, she entered what would become a more than 40 year banking career by working at the Bank of America in Sacramento. Aunt Penny was the last of her immediate family and she was the primary care giver of so many of them. She was the loving care giver to her husband and along with Aunt Judy, she was the care giver in the final years of her parents. And, when Aunt Judy was felled by debilitating ALS, it was Aunt Penny who nursed her through those last, painful, challenging years. A promise made to our Aunt in her healthy years, that she would be allowed to live out her life in her own home, was a sacred promise kept. It was so important to her to remain in her home in her beloved Sacramento. Helping us live up to that promise and deserving of our special, profound and heartfelt thanks are beloved Stella and Lucas Kontes, Aunt Penny's cadre of beloved neighbors who hovered with watchful eyes, and beloved care givers, Anna and Ifereimi Murisiga, and Mary, before them. One last, exceedingly humble, heartfelt thank you to Dr. Pau Fong and his awesome staff, who kept Aunt Penny alive for 92 years with a good quality of life, a minimum of medicine and an absence of intrusive interventions. Well done, doctor!
