Boether, Vivian
Vivian Boether, age 89, of Reno, NV and formerly of
Sacramento, CA, passed away on March 26, 2010.
She was married to her beloved husband, Duane Boether, for
34 years, he preceded her in death in 1978. She is survived
by her daughter, Lynda Timmons of Sparks, NV; son, Greg
Boether of Glendale, AZ: granddaughters, Yvette Koenig of
Wellington, NV; Nikki and Kim Boether of Glendale, AZ and
grandson, Austen Steele of Wellington, NV.
Vivian was born in Berkeley, CA in 1920, to Carl and Mabel
(Way) Mikel where she grew up with now deceased sisters,
Janet and Lois Mikel. In her early years, she moved with her
family to Stockton, CA, where she met and married Duane
Boether in 1944. She worked as a legal secretary until her
move to Sacramento, CA with her husband and two children
in 1955 where she became a data processor with the State of
California for the next 25 years. She moved to Reno, NV in
1995, where she lived until her recent death. Throughout the
years, she was devotedly involved with her church activities
and was a member of the English Speaking and Culture club.
She loved singing and music and was offered, at one time in
1939, a job singing with the Carl Ravazza Band and
Orchestra.
A family graveside service will be held on Friday, April 2,
2010 at the Eastlawn Cemetery in Sacramento, CA at 1 p.m.
where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband,
Duane.
Arrangement are entrusted to the O'Brien-Rogers and Crosby
Funeral Home, 600 W. 2nd St. Reno, NV.
