Babcock, Della Della Babcock May 18, 1921-March 19, 2010 Bernard Babcock May 14, 1922 - July 9, 2009 After hanging out together for the better part of 70 years, Bernard and Della Babcock let only a few months separate their trips to Eternity. As noted in his memorial obituary last summer, Bernard passed away at age 87 last July 9; Della followed him last week on March 19 at age 88. Mom and Dad returned to their Montana roots seven years ago after living in the Snohomish and Granite Falls, WA areas since 1956. They resided in Kalispell, MT at the time of their deaths surrounded by an extended family of son, Bruce; and daughter, Lynn (Jacobsmeyer); and their two spouses, Trisha and Wayne; and a bunch of grandkids; and a bigger bunch of great-grandkids. Son, Howard, of Monroe, WA also survives them along with his wife, Dede, and their contribution to the grandkid/great-grandkid pool. All totaled Bernard and Della had nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandkids. And they loved them all as "great" grandkids! Mom and Dad were both born in Montana; Dad in 1922 in Harlowtown and Mom in 1921 in Twin Bridges. They graduated from Twin Bridges High School and were married in the same town. Mother, in her recent passing, was predeceased by brothers Dean and Bill Doak. Her forte was being a homemaker and loving and caring for (and worrying about) her family. She was a great comfort food cook, loved music, roses and a good joke-irreverent or otherwise! While we're glad they are reunited forever after a short separation, we will miss them deeply every day. A memorial celebration of Della's life for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 9, at the Community Center in Columbia Falls, Montana.
