De Lesdernier, Anita

Anita "Neeter" L. De Lesdernier passed away peacefully
on March, 16, 2010, at the age of 70, of cancer. She was
born September 11, 1939, in St. Louis, MO. Neeter
retired in 1989. She spent most of her time involved
with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve
Association. At the time of her death, she was a
member of Unit 61, in Chula Vista, CA, where she
served as Unit President. She served on many
Regional and National committees, as well as a six
year term as National Data Processing Manager,
followed by a three year term as National Financial
Secretary and then National Vice President, she
presided as National President from 2003 to 2004.
Apart from the LA FRA, she was greatly gratified to
serve as a volunteer for the San Diego Vitas Hospice
organization and Coordinator for the Neighborhood
Watch program in her community. Her other love was
with the "Red Hat Renegades." Her beloved Dick lost
his own battle with cancer in January 2004. Her
biological parents preceded her in death, as did her
foster parents, Russell and Edna Piening. Her son, Brian
Anthony, died as a young child, her sister Lee in 1989,
and her foster sister Pat in 2004. She is survived by her
daughter Jody (Joanna), son-in-law Greg, and delightful
granddaughter Amber. Also surviving is her sister
Carole (Harry), Nola; Alice (Dean), and her little brother
Jess (Nathalie). She also leaves behind a boodle of
nephews and nieces, and many great friends. At her
request, there will be no memorial service or
celebration of life. Her remains will be co-mingled
with those of my father and scattered at sea from a
United States Navy Ship. In lieu of flowers, Mom has
requested donations be made to: San Diego Vitas

72619. Vitas cared for my father and now cared for my
mother these last three weeks of her life. All of the
staff were loving, caring and respectful of her dignity
and her wishes. There are no words to express my
