Apart from the LA FRA, she was greatly gratified to serve as a volunteer for the San Diego Vitas Hospice organization and Coordinator for the Neighborhood Watch program in her community. Her other love was with the "Red Hat Renegades." Her beloved Dick lost his own battle with cancer in January 2004. Her biological parents preceded her in death, as did her foster parents, Russell and Edna Piening. Her son, Brian Anthony, died as a young child, her sister Lee in 1989, and her foster sister Pat in 2004. She is survived by her daughter Jody (Joanna), son-in-law Greg, and delightful granddaughter Amber.
