| Barr, Arleen D. Arleen Dolores Barr Born May 22, 1933, San Francisco, Ca Died October 5, 2011, Windsor, Ca Mom passed away peacefully after a long illness for the past eleven years. Her radiant beauty inside and out never left her and will always be in our hearts forever. Mom was born in San Francisco and moved to Fairfax in Marin County as a teenager. She spent many vacations along the shores of the Russian River in Summer Home Park with her large Irish family. In 1955 she met the love of her life, a handsome, young dentist from San Rafael, Billy Barr. She leaves behind her devoted husband, pal, and long-time caregiver, William H. Barr, her two angels Rosa and Beatriz, her five sons: Kevin (Linda), Bob (Maryann), Jeffrey (Bill), Billy (Amy), Tom (Jennie) and her sister, Leah Sanders. Her beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Megan, Tyler, Tiffany, Tori, Lauren, Amanda, Patsy, Michael, Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, William H. Bemiss, her mother, Rose E. Bemiss, her beloved brother-in-law, John DeMarchi, and her sister-in-law, Agnes Barr Davis. Her family, the Catholic Church and friends were everything to her. In her early years she worked for the Marin Municipal Water District, followed by the California Coastal Commission, the California Highway Patrol and finally as a volunteer at the Healdsburg Hospital. She will be remembered as a loving, guiding, caring mother and grandmother, her impeccable ability to throw a fantastic party and to celebrate holidays with a flare, a devoted wife and Catholic. A recital of the Rosary will be on Friday, October 14th at 7:00PM. Catholic Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 15th at 10:00 AM. Both at Saint Raphael's Church 1104 Fifth Avenue in San Rafael followed by a private interment.
