Lopez, Marcella

Feb. 21, 1944 ~ Sep. 13, 2011 Marcella Lopez, age 67, peacefully
passed away Tues., Sept. 13th, at the Ryan's Hospice House in
Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded by her parents, Alfredo and Dora
Lopez, and grandson, Cristoval Joel. She is survived by her 2
sons and 2 daughters: Alfred and wife, Norha Medina, Josephine
and husband, Albert Padilla, Mark and wife, Christine Silva,
Marcella Ann and husband, E. J. Flores, 14 grandchildren, Dan,
Michael, Joseph, Matt, Cris, Alex, Nick, Ryan, Marisol, Tony,
Abaristo, Johnny, Gabriel, and Evangelina, 1 great-grandchild
Annabel, along with 3 sisters, Stella K., Dora R., and Mary E.
Marcella was a giving and com- passionate loving mother, she
lived her whole life in Arizona, splitting some time in her
later years in Houston, Texas. She grew up in Phoenix; attending
school at Murphy Elementary, graduating from Carl Hayden High
School, and then attended Phoenix College. She worked in the
retail, software, automotive sales, and banking industry of
which she retired from the later. Throughout her life she was an
avid softball player. She had a great love for the outdoors;
going often on hunting and camping trips. In her later years her
hobbies include crocheting, reading, listening to mariachi
music, old time western movies and catching a good boxing match.
She was involved in the Church with deep devotions to all of her
family. Her greatest joy and love was spending time with her
great aunts, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. A vigil with
Rosary will be held at A. L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, located at
710 West Bethany Home Rd, Phx, AZ from 5pm to 8 pm with Rosary
at 7pm, on Tues. 9/20/11. Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary's
Basilica, located at 231 North 3rd Street, Phx, AZ, on Wed.
9/21/11 at 10 am. Parking is available in the Diocesan Parking
Garage; enter off 5th street. Interment to follow at Greenwood
Memory Lawn Cemetery, located at 2300 Van Buren, Phx, AZ.
