Carpenter, Dolores M.

Dolores M. Carpenter, 88, of Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 29,
2011. Born Aug. 9, 1923, in Pasadena, Calif., she was a 55 year
resident of Nevada. Dolores completed college in Southern
California where she began a family and soon after moved to
Southern Nevada. After raising five children, Dolores began her
career at Centel as a customer service rep, retiring in 1994.
Dolores was very involved in St. Anne's Elementary School, St.
Anne's Church and the Bishop Gorman community. Dolores "Mom"
Carpenter was known for giving of her time, love and effort to
many local organizations, her favorite of which was Opportunity
Village. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis X
Hovley; mother, Myrtle Hovley; husband, W. Clare; and sons, Greg
Reilly and Ricky. She was survived by her brother Gene (Helen)
Hovley; sons, Dennis (Vivian) Reilly, and Steve (Stefanie);
daughter, Nancy (Brian) Garber; grandchildren, Ryan, Nicole,
Shawn and Brandon; and great-grandchildren, Taylor & Caitlynne.
Also survived by her are adopted daughters, Barbara Roseth,
Kathy Hodge and their families and many dear lifelong friends.
She will be missed for eternity by all who knew her. Viewing
will be from 3-6 p.m., with Rosary to follow from 6-7 p.m. on
Oct. 5. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Oct. 6 with graveside
service to follow at Palm Mortuary Downtown Las Vegas.
