Carroll, Phyllis M. Carroll, Phyllis Menne July 25, 1926 - August 29, 2011 Phyllis Menne Carroll passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 in San Diego, CA at the age of 85. Phyllis was born July 25, 1926 to John and Mary Menne in Oxnard, CA. She was raised in Oxnard, CA along with her siblings, sister Marilyn and brothers John and David. Upon graduating from the University of Southern California, she married John W. Carroll in 1949 and settled in the Los Angeles area where they raised six children, eventually residing in Rancho Santa Fe, CA with her husband until her death. Phyllis was a homemaker and wonderful mother to her children, a devout Catholic who valued faith and family, above all. She was an active member in her church and supported many local Christian charity organizations. She also enjoyed gardening and music, was an avid bridge player and sports fan devoted to her beloved Dodgers and USC Trojans. She is survived by John, her loving husband of 62 years; children, Colleen (Jerry) Jensen, Patrick (Ramona) Carroll, Maureen Carroll, Mary (Joseph) Davidson, Thomas (Solange) Carroll, and Daniel (Elizabeth) Carroll; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Services, including Catholic mass, to be held at Church of the Nativity, Rancho Santa Fe 11:00 a.m., Friday, Sept. 23 with gathering of family and friends at the Valencia Resort to follow.
