Michael Anthony Alvarado August 27, 1960 - September 11, 2011
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the family of
Michael Anthony Alvarado announces that he passed away on
Sunday, September 11, 2011. Michael was born August 27, 1960 in
Downey, California and grew up in La Puente and Montebello, most
recently residing in Walnut, California. He attended Montebello
High School and graduated from Cal State Los Angeles with a
Bachelor's Degree in Music in 1984. Michael was a kind, loving
and wonderful Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend.
He was a life-long employee of the Los Angeles Times, who
started his career on April 15, 1985 in the Advertising
Administration Department. He occupied various positions
throughout his career with The Times and most recently was the
Advertising Compensation Manager. He contributed greatly in this
role and was responsible for implementation of several
generations of incentive programs over the last decade.
The Times acknowledged Michael as a wonderful and great
colleague and a most esteemed member of their company. Michael
was known as the classic example of a gentleman and was
considered to be the finest example of a human being who
respected and treated everyone with kindness.
Michael will be deeply missed by his family as well as his
colleagues and friends at the Los Angeles Times.
Rest in peace, Michael. We will keep you in our hearts forever.
Michael is survived by his mother, Gloria Solis of Walnut, CA;
his brothers, Albert Carrillo of Victorville, CA, Robert
Carrillo of Hesperia, CA and Conrad Quinones of Walnut, CA; his
sisters, Marjorie Vravis of Ontario, CA, and Mary Ann Saemaldahr
of Los Angeles, CA.
Services will be held today at Rose Hills Cemetery- SkyRose
Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Burial immediately following the Services.
