Angeli, Mary

Mary Angeli, wife of the late Primo Angeli both long-time
residents of Loomis, passed away with her family around her. She
was also preceded in death by her dear brother Joe Azevedo
(Jean) of the Santa Maria area, sisters-in-law Diva Raffetto
(Thomas) and Marie Baldoni (Daniel) of the Auburn area and
precious grandson, James Wesley Wharff. Mary leaves behind three
daughters Beverly Wharff (Harry), Emily Santone (Joseph) and
Marlene Angeli (Patrick Schiavo) and five grandchildren, John
Wharff (Terri), Christina and Michael Santone, Alicia and
Marissa Schiavo, two great-grandchildren, Connor and Jayden
Wharff, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was born in 1918
to Manuel and Maria Azevedo in Nipomo, California. She grew up
in the Santa Maria area. After her graduation from Santa Maria
High School, Mary helped her family farm vegetables and
livestock at the old Harris Ranch in Orcutt, California. In 1946
Mary married Primo Angeli from Loomis, California. In 1955 Mary
and Primo moved to Loomis after they purchased a fruit ranch
from Emilia Angeli (Primo's Mother). They continued to live and
work the property until Primo's death in 1999. Mary recently
moved to a care home in Rocklin, California until her passing.
Mary was always praised for her fabulous cooking and baking
skills. Mary was a member of the local Portuguese Societies,
SPRSI Council #26 of Newcastle and UPPEC Council #61. She was
very proud of her Portuguese heritage. She was also a long time
member of the St. Peter and Paul Parish and Ladies Guild in
Rocklin. Mary will be missed by her many family and friends. A
rosary will be held in Mary's memory on Thursday, August 18,
2011 at 7 p.m. at the Chapel of Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn,
CA 95603. Visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. will precede the
rosary. The memorial mass will be held at St. Peter and Paul's
Church at 4450 Granite Drive, Rocklin, CA 95677 on Friday,
August 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral
mass at the Auburn District Cemetery, 1040 Collins Drive,
Auburn, CA 95704. Donations in Mary's memory can be made to the
Alzheimer's Association .
