FISCHER, JAMES JEROME August 24, 1957 to June 28, 2011 Jim
passed away peacefully at home in San Diego, CA on Tuesday,
June 28, 2011 after a courageous three-year battle against
prostate cancer. A brave fight he conducted with a strong
positive attitude. He was born in Chester, PA to Sharran
Kniffen and Wallace Fischer. After growing up in Askov,
Minnesota, he joined the U.S. Navy on November 24, 1975 and
retired on January 31, 1998 as AMH-8345 F-14 and AMH-7212
Stationary Hydraulics Stand Alone Operator/ Technician.
After his retirement, he attended Coleman College and
obtained his Associate Degree in Computer Applications and
Networks. He worked for Penninsula Bank and later joined
San Diego National Bank (now US Bank) until May 2010. Jim
is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Evelyn; his
children, Valerie Boycourt; Edmund, married to Venus
Blackman; and Allan, married to Merrick Weiner;
grand-daughters, Emma and Lauren Boycourt, and their
father, Brian Boycourt; brothers, Terry, Mike, and Glenn;
and his loyal pet dogs, Bearclaw and Peaches. He was a true
and honorable man whose integrity and exemplary character
will never be forgotten by his family, relatives, friends
and co-workers. His priceless legacy on values of honesty,
love, loyalty, courage, respect and hard work will be
treasured by his loved ones. A memorial service will be
held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011, at the main
chapel, followed by military honors and inurnment at 11:00
a.m., at the Madonna Lawn both at El Camino Memorial Park
and Mortuary, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA
92121. Thank you all for your sympathy, condolences and
support during this difficult time of bereavement.
