Scribner, Sherwood Lee Sherwood Lee Scribner Sherwood Lee Scribner, born June 25, 1948 in Moscow, Idaho passed away peacefully at Odyssey Hospice in Tucson on August 18, 2010. Preceded in death by his father, William A. Scribner; brother, Charles Scribner and nephew, Jacob Camp. He is survived by his wife, Anne Olson- Scribner; mother, Ella May Scribner; sisters, Sylvia Camp (John) and Sandra Sharrah (Gary); brother, Laurence Scribner; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. With a forest-service father and a musically trained mother, all the Scribner siblings grew up hunting, fishing and playing musical instruments. After graduating from Borah High School in Boise, Sherwood attended the University of Arizona on a music scholarship. He won based on a recording of him playing Bach's E Major Violin Concerto. He graduated in 1970 with a B.S. degree. His business career spanned music to missiles. In the 1970s, he formed JSH Laboratories (later MTI), which produced award- winning (CES best-of-show) high-end stereo equipment. In 1982, Sherwood joined Hughes Aircraft (Raytheon) as a missile systems engineer and worked on the Maverick, TOW, Phoenix and AMRAAM missiles. In 1999, he was selected to join the R6Sigma team and worked with them until retiring in 2003. A true westerner, Sherwood wore Stewart-made cowboy boots half his life and eagerly volunteered for the Tucson Rodeo Parade Committee, where he served as treasurer for many years. One of Sherwood's greatest interests was food, really good food. He taught himself how to cook, mastering the art of French cuisine and also Italian (Mario Batali-style). His gourmet dinners are legendary among family and friends. Sherwood and his gourmet gusto will be missed. No services are planned; there will be a private memorial for family and friends.
