Kelley, Clyde E.

75, of Gold Canyon, AZ. passed away August 20, 2010, from
complications of Alzheimer's disease. An Arizona native, he
was born May 1, 1935. He is one of 10 children born to Harry
and Annabell Kelley, both deceased. Clyde grew up on a
family owned dairy farm in Glendale, AZ. As a boy, he had a
country paper route for 3 years, along Lateral 19 and 20 in
west Phoenix. He tells many stories about flat tires on his
bicycle and losing papers. Clyde graduated from Tolleson HS
and maintained contact with many of his HS friends over the
years. As a young man he enlisted in the Arizona Air Force
National Guard. He was called to active duty during the Berlin
crisis. He served 13 months in Europe as a chef at Chambley
AFB in France. After his Air Force duty, Clyde worked for
Mountain Bell (Qwest Communications) for 31 years. Clyde
was an avid baseball player and fan and spent 7 years
coaching Little League Baseball in Scottsdale. Clyde had a
mischievous smile, wonderful sense of humor and was a
great story teller. Clyde is survived by his wife Donna
(Dazey-Monska), son Keith, daughter Cynthia Kennedy,
step-daughter Darbi Monska, 3 grandchildren, sisters Hester
Justice (Glen), and Ester Hill (Jesse), and brother Ernest. Clyde
was predeceased by brothers Archie, Lawrence, twin-brother
Clarence and sisters Helen McCullum (Patrick), Jesse May
Hobgood (Sidney) and Catheryn Lasiter (Murle). Clyde was
also predeceased by his beloved four-legged poodle friends
Charlie, Comet and Misty. Molly survives Clyde and will
continue to bring love into the Kelley household. Services will
be held August 26, 2010 at 10:30AM, Allen Funeral Home,
1130 S. Horne, Mesa, AZ. 480-833-1716 In lieu of flowers,
