Jones, Wallace B. Sr. Age 94, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his Horizon House residence on Thursday, August 19, 2010. Bruce was born on May 13, 1916 in Seattle to Beulah Faye Smith Jones and Harry Burnell Jones. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Grace Potter Hiscock Jones, in 2007. They were married for 66 years. Bruce attended Lowell Elementary School, Broadway High School and graduated from the University of Washington where he was a member of PSI Upsilon Fraternity. Bruce participated in track and was the manager of the Husky football team. He was a Tyee member and attended basketball and football games into his 80's. Bruce had fond memories of his grandfather, Wesley L. Jones, who served his country well in the House andU.S. Senate for more than 40 years. He drove his grandfather around the state stumping prior to elections. Bruce enrolled in the Coast Guard during the war. He was a Certified Public Accountant and first worked as the in-house Accountant for the Gibson Packing Company in Yakima. Subsequently he worked as a CPA at the John Meals Company. In 1957 he purchased Trick & Murray Office Products Company where he was President and worked until his retirement in the early 1990's. He and Grace vacationed and owned a home at Smoke Tree Ranch, Palm Springs, California for many years. They loved to play golf in Seattle and the desert. His other passion was boating. He was a crew member for two Trans-Pac sailing races from Los Angeles to Honolulu in the 1950's and he continued his passion as a boat owner and cruised in Washington, British Columbia and Southeast Alaska. Bruce was an owner of Lake Union Drydock Company where he served as Treasurer. He was a former member of the Seattle Golf Club, the Men's University Club and the Seattle Tennis Club. The family is so grateful to Jean Pollard and Lili Tupou for the loving care they gave to Bruce in his later years. Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother Harry Burnell Jones, Jr. He is survived by his brother, Roger Wesley Jones, children Bruce Jr. and wife Joanne, and daughter Grace "Missy" Jones Ross; grandchildren Mike, Sam, Jeremy, Jessica, Kim and Heather; great-grandchildren Jordan, Ava, Syrus, Marco, Elio and Savannah; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Epiphany Parish. There will be a memorial service at Epiphany Parish, 1800 - 38th Avenue, Seattle 98122 on Saturday, September 25th at 10:00 a.m. followed by a gathering at the Seattle Yacht Club.
