Stanley, David R.

David R. Stanley born May 25, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa passed 
away Sunday, August 29, 2010 of bladder cancer. In earlier years 
he was married to Kathy Hansen. His hobbies included 
photography and sketching, he could beat most anyone at a 
Game of Pool and was a Master Chess Player. People remember 
David for his quick wit, kind ways and was a gentleman... He is 
survived by his sister Shelley Stanley Malone and brother Gary 
Stanley both of Phoenix, AZ. His mother Virginia Hallgren Stanley 
passed in '06, while his father Otis J. Stanley (Stanley Engineering 
of Davenport) passed in '73. There was a "Private Viewing" for 
family where David wore his favorite clothes, with his favorite 
keepsakes around him, including his sketches and cartoons. 
David "refused" conventional Cancer treatments and remarkably 
survived taking only Tylenol being self-sufficient until the last 3 
days of his life. He and his sister Shelley were "Best Buddies" and 
she was with him through out his illness and when he passed.
