Blancett, Melva 85, of Mesa, AZ passed away on March 2, 2010. Melva was born in McAlester, Oklahoma. She was instrumental in organizing the Arizona branch of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of TV & Radio Artists (AFTRA), and served on the National Boards of both organizations. Melva has many photographs and memorabilia, numerous favorable reviews and honors. Her resume lists stage, films, made for TV movies, radio & TV commercials, and voice-overs. Melva was married to Lloyd Blancett for 56 happy years until Lloyd's death in 1999. Melva has two sons, Lloyd Jr. (Tucson), and Jon (Chandler), three grandchildren, Jason and Heather (CA), and Chase (Tucson), and one great-granddaughter, Emma (CA). She also has two nieces, Sally (Reno, NV), Nancy (Chicago, IL), and nephew Jeff (Black Eagle, MT). Melva consistently maintained close contact with her life-long best friend and cousin, Betty, in Oklahoma. A Memorial Service celebrating Melva's life will be held 1230, Monday, March 15, 2010 at the Mt. View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th St, Phoenix, AZ, 85044, with a luncheon following.
