Peterson, JoAnn

JoAnn Peterson, 60, of Las Vegas, passed away March 4, 2010.
She was born June 21, 1949, in St. Louis, and was a 21-year
resident of Nevada. JoAnn graduated in 1968 from Wahtonka
High School, where she was active as a varsity cheerleader,
homecoming princess and in many school activities. JoAnn
married Michael D. Peterson Dec. 14, 1968, and was happily
married for 41 years. JoAnn and Michael were blessed with
their daughter, Taji, born Aug. 22, 1969, and Taji blessed JoAnn
with a beloved grandson, Corey, now six years old. JoAnn had
a very successful business career, managing motel/hotel
properties in the United States and overseas. The last 20 years
JoAnn has been an excellent manager at Exclibur. She was
preceded in death by her mother, Marianna Bird. JoAnn is
survived by her loving husband, Michael D. Peterson; daughter,
Taji Ann Marie Fava; grandson, Corey Nicholas Fava; son-in-
law, Nick Fava; father, Meredith L. Bird; brother, Steven Bird;
sister-in-law, Judy Lindhorst and husband, Bud; and nieces and
nephews, Jim, Ed, Ben, Ruthie, Ron, Don, Diane, Patti and
Shilayna, and their families. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-
noon Friday, March 12, with services following, both at Palm
Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas. A gathering will
follow at River Oaks Senior Mobile Home Park.
