Aubeny, Charles Paul Charles Paul Aubeny Born January 4, 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio. Died March 5, 2010. Survived by beloved wife, Jeannette; daughters, Cheryl (Julian) Villegas and Galen (Anthony) Castelli; son, Charles Paul (Ulker) Aubeny, Jr.; grandchildren, Caroline and Jennifer Villegas. He served in the Navy for 22 years as a radio man and retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. During WWII, while in Manila with the 7th Fleet, Paul transmitted General Douglas MacArthur's directions regarding terms for the Japanese surrender. Paul's message, as dictated by MacArthur went in plain language to the USS Missouri where the formal Japanese surrender was eventually signed. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 11, 2010 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco, with Military Honors by the U.S. Navy.
